Dickson Chisenga, 24, was hired from Venue Night Club in Wusakile’s Miseshi area to Town centre by an unidentified man who along the way gave him a drink believed to have been laced with a drug.
Acting Copperbelt Police chief Joyce Kasosa yesterday confirmed the incident which happened on Saturday night.
Ms Kasosa said Mr Chisenga of house number 24, Mulenga Township was operating in a Toyota Corolla registration number ACR 9004 on Saturday night when he was booked by the suspected robber to take him to town.

Ms Kasosa said Mr Chisenga found himself at MTN offices on Sunday morning and could not recall what transpired after taking the drink.
“The taxi driver was booked from Miseshi to town and along the way the, passenger offered the driver a drink, the next thing, he found himself lying at MTN head offices in the morning without the vehicle,” she said.
Ms Kasosa said Mr Chisenga was later taken to hospital for medical examination to ascertain the drug contained in the drink as he looked disoriented.
She, however, was not in position to give the outcome of the medical examination as she was still waiting for details from the officers.
Ms Kasosa who said police had launched investigations in the matter wondered why people and taxi drivers in particular should accept drinks offered to them by strangers when facts where there that a number of their colleagues had been drugged and lost vehicles for consuming drinks from strangers.
