Lungu 628x350newBy ANTHONY MULOWA – in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has called for the strengthening of bilateral relations between Zambia and Russia as there are various sectors the two countries can partner in. Mr Lungu said the partnership between the two countries should be further strengthened so that many other sectors could be explored. Mr Lungu said Russia could also explore investing in sectors such as agriculture and energy. He said the energy sector needed so much investment as the country was faced with an electricity supply deficit. Mr Lungu said this yesterday when he held bilateral talks with Russian Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and the countries of Africa, Mikhail Bogdanov on the sidelines of the just ended 26th AU Summit in Addis Ababa. Mr Bogdanov, who is also the deputy foreign minister said Zambia was on the right path of development and was one of the most important partners of Russia in Africa. President Lungu also held a bilateral meeting with Sudanese President Ormar al-Bashir who said the relations between the two countries which started during the pre-independence struggle should be strengthened.
