POLICE in Lusaka have summoned former Defence Minister, Geoffrey Mwamba’s wife, Chama and daughter Thandiwe, to appear for interrogations regarding the tender for the supply of Zesco poles.

Mr Mwamba and his other daughter, Sibongile, are also facing similar interrogations in the case.

The family members are all directors at Mr Mwamba’s company, Arizona, which was involved in the tender for the supply of the poles.

Police spokesperson, Charity Chanda said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that Mrs Mwamba and Thandiwe had been summoned to appear before investigators on Tuesday next week.

Mr Mwamba’s questioning had been rescheduled to Monday next week after he requested through his lawyers Makebi Zulu and Jonas Zimba, to meet the investigators next week.

“We have also summoned other directors of the company, who include Mr Mwamba’s wife and his other daughter, Thandiwe, regarding the supply of poles to Zesco but Mr Mwamba will appear for questioning on Monday next week,” she said.

Earlier yesterday, Sibongile appeared before the Police at the headquarters, but opted to remain mute during questioning.

“Sibongile appeared but she opted to remain quiet during the interrogations and will appear again,” he said.
