By KALUMIANA KALUMIANA –

POWER Dynamos coach Tennant Chilumba has expressed happiness with the commitment shown by defender Nyambe Mulenga and striker Patrick Kabamba since their arrival this year.

Nyambe and Kabamba have joined Power on loan from Zesco United until the end of the season and have since travelled with the Kitwe side to Livingstone for a two-week training camp.

Chilumba said in an interview yesterday that overall, the team had a lot to do to reach the 100 per cent fitness levels ahead of the March 1 kick-off of the 2014 MTN/FAZ Super League season.

“They are fitting in well, you can’t even notice that they are new players and I am very happy, especially with the senior players for the welcome they have given their colleagues,” Chilumba said.

And Kabamba has already scored for Power during their Livingstone camp in a 3-0 win over FAZ Division One South side Livingstone Pirates on Friday in which Lubambo Musonda and Ignatius Lwipa found the target.

Power followed up with a 2-1 win over Zesco Victoria Falls on Saturday with Lubambo and Kobe Chipeta scoring a goal each in that match.

And on Sunday, Power drew 2-all with Nakambala Leopards in which Martin Phiri and Nashya Kaya scored against the promoted side.

“I think the boys are responding well, of course Sunday’s game left them fatigued, but we can’t blame fatigue we are trying to work on that aspect,” Chilumba said.

“Otherwise I am very happy with the team and they are responding 100 per cent to training. Though not 100 per cent for now, we are still working. It is a big challenge we just have to work very hard,” he added.

Power finished the 2013 season in eighth place after surviving a late relegation battle.

“Last year we struggled, but with me it was just a bad patch. People said we did not do well in the last few games but the team did fine,” the Power coach said.

Meanwhile, Power take on Nakambala today in another friendly in Mazabuka. They return to Kitwe tomorrow.
