SECRET Records has for a long time hidden a huge evolution ‘secret’ that started off from the humble days of the wardrobe-sized studio to now a real force in the competitive world-class music video production industry.
One of the latest productions by Secret Records that would definitely pull your eye towards the screen in bolt from the blue and delight is the captivating video showing the transformation phase of Ruff Kid to Ruffkaida in the track I am alive.
Ruffkaida who has for a long time been a face on one of Zambia’s music labels the XYZ has since taken off his XYZ garments to now put on the amour of the Secret Records.
Ruffkaida says the transition signifies his rebirth and that his fans should expert nothing less than excellence from his future offering under the record label.
” I think the video does explain on its own what my fans expect of me, from now on as I believe that you can only raise and no going down,” says the multi- award wining singer.
This brings one to an understanding that there should be no excuse for bad picture quality in the Zambian music video industry that should hardly compete on international market.
After JK’s Akapilipili video created talking points on what is supposed to be a good video, more innovations have since hit the Zambian screens where video production is concerned.
The Ruffkaida video Am Alive has certainly been received well on the top billing. Thanks to the creative minds of the Secret Records.
MultiChoice Zambia public relations manager Marlon Kananda has seen the video and has given a tip to the producers and the artists on how easily they can flood the continental Channel O with Zambian production.
“I have personally seen a number of good Zambian videos which would have been now playing on Channel O. But the issue is that our artistes don’t want to promote their music videos … and Channel O can not buy music videos of an unknown artiste,” he says
Marlon has tipped artiste that they should first promote their beautiful videos for free on Channel O before talking cash.
“The doors are open for such creative and good videos like that of Secret Records’ Ruffkaida to be on the promotional bus on the Channel O. Artist have brought music videos but Channel o is not ready to buy in most cases but simply promote.
So our artistes should take advantage of this, ” he says. The Ruffkaida video might just hit the continental screens soon.
