WORLD Youth Olympics 100m gold medalist Sidney Siame will this month take part in  crucial Rio-Olympics qualifying tournaments  in three continents.
Siame will start the search for an Olympics place in Germany in Europe, before switching to China in Asia and ending the chase with a competition on the African soil in Senegal.
Siame has for close to six months been trying to qualify to the Olympics where a qualifying time of 10.16 seconds has been set while his best time stands at 10.18 seconds.
Siame, together with the already qualified Kabange Mupopo will be taking part in the Germany and Shanghai Invitational meets which were slated for May 14 and 23 respectively before the Dakar World Challenge on May 25.
Siame was confident he would this time make sure he makes the Olympics and that his fitness and morale are at their peak.
They leave the country next week on Monday.
He said the three events were a good platform for him to qualify for the Olympics and join compatriot Mupopo who was the only athlete to have qualified for the Olympics.
Siame turned down the Doha Invitation set for this Saturday (May 6) in Qatar so he can focus on the three meets.
Saviour Kombe was initially part of the team that was expected to take part in the events but got injured and knocked out of the three competitions.
“Saviour Kombe was supposed to travel with us but his injury would not make it possible for him to travel,” Siame said.
“I’m just inches away from reaching the Olympic time in the 200 metres which is 20:50 while my personal best is 20:53,” he said.
