MORE than 300 exhibitors have so far confirmed participation in this year’s Zambia International Trade Fair (ZITF) which will take place at the end of next month in Ndola.
ZITF general manager Alex Mayeya said in an interview that 335 exhibitors out of whom 229 were local and 90 foreign had so far registered to participate in trade fair exhibitions that will take place from June 29 to July 5 this year.
Mr Mayeya said this year’s fair would attract more foreign exhibitors compared to the past years.
“The preparations for this year’s trade fair are progressing well. We are receiving overwhelming response from foreign exhibitors.
“We so far have 90 foreign companies from different parts of the world that have confirmed participation,” he said.
Mr Mayeya said the number of foreign companies that have confirmed participation this year had already surpassed last year’s figure.
He said last year’s fair attracted 30 foreign exhibitors while this year, more than 100 were expected to participate.
He said ZITF was renovating the exporters’ hall and that the other halls and stands were ready.
Mr Mayeya said ZITF had improved its entertainment package to attract more show-goers.
This year’s trade fair will be held under the theme, ‘Enhanced value addition for job creation’.
Last year, the show attracted 471 local and 30 foreign exhibitors while over K8 million was raised.
