Ms Lungu was speaking on Friday night at a fundraising dinner dance for Mutomboko traditional ceremonyof the Bemba speaking people at Mulungushi International Conference Centre.
She urged the midlands Mutomboko fundraising committee to ensure  that this year’s celebration was packaged to highlight all provincial activities.
“The pro-active route and initiative our traditional leaders have taken in the provision of basic needs at community level is unprecedented in the last five years,” she said.
She donated K30,000 cash and her daughter Tasila, donated K5,000 while several other attendees made a contribution to the ceremony.
The First Lady said Government attached great importance to all ceremonies and commended the ruling party for establishing the ministry of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs which had augmented the preservation of culture heritage and national identity.
Ms Lungu said she had personally taken keen interest in working with traditional leaders and ensuring that she had first hand information by visiting rural areas.
She said she had noted that all Royal Highnesses she interacted and worked with understood the current times and its needs.
And Midlands Mutumboko organising committee Misheck Kaoma applauded the Government for the support rendered towards the preparations including the donation of a tractor to women in Mwense Ddistrict.
