Baby (2) drowns

A TWO-YEAR old boy of Ntindi village in Nakonde District has drowned after falling into a neighbour’s well.
Muchinga Province Police chief Auxensio Daka said the incident happened on June 24, around 15 hours when the boy fell into the neighboour’s well and drowned.
Mr Daka said the father of the deceased, Abraham Mugala 21, reported the incident to the police.
He said no foul play was suspected and that the body of the deceased was retrieved and is lying in the Nakonde District hospital mortuary.
“We have a report in which a two-year old boy drowned after falling into the neighbour’s well, we have not arrested anyone and there is no suspected foul play,” he said.
In another development, two pedestrians have died after being hit by motor vehicles in separate accidents.
Mr Daka said Danny Sinyangwe of Nteko village in Nakonde was hit by an unknown motor vehicle and sustained a fractured left leg, multiple cuts on the head and died on the way to the hospital.
He said the driver of the vehicle was on the run.
Mr Daka also said that Morris Mwape, 34, of Mwenge village in Mpika was also hit by a motor vehicle while he was crossing the road.
He said Mwape sustained broken limbs and died upon arrival at Mpika District hospital
