RED Force picked up a three wicket win over Kabundi Stars as the top three sides won their Zambia Cricket Union (ZCU) Copperbelt 50 overs Under-19 Boys’ round robin league matches.
It was Kabundi Stars who won the toss and chose to bat first. They scored 101 runs all out in 22.4 overs in a game played at Nkana Cricket Club in Kitwe, with the Chiyanda brothers of Francis and Innocent top scoring for their side.
Pick of the bowlers for Red Force was John Mwape with five wickets while Lucky Lubinga got two wickets.
Red Force batting second reached their victory target in 28.1 overs as Langson Mukisi top scored with a knock of 31 runs while the little master, Chola Longwa, who has been enjoying a rich vein of form, finished unbeaten on 19 runs for the second time in a row.
Paul Kalela scored 16 runs, pick of the bowlers for Kabundi Stars was Usher Simwinga who got three wickets.
In Mufulira, hosts Green Wanderers beat Ndeke Stars by 99 runs in a tie that saw the home side winning the toss and elected to bat first. Wanderers were all out for 135 runs for two wickets down with Aubrey Lwando top scoring with 47 runs while Bornface Syasipa made 40 runs, Bethan Kasopa scored 27 runs while Mofya Mambwe contributed 15 runs.
Ndeke Stars, who have been struggling with the bat in their innings, were skittled out for 36 runs in 12 overs with none of their batsmen able to score double figures, Patrick Nyangwe made nine runs.
Pick of the bowlers for Wanderers was man-of-the-match Aubrey Lwando, who picked up a five wicket haul while Bornface Syasipa got three wickets.
At Bharat Sport Club in Luanshya, Roan Super Kings winning streak continued when they beat Ndola’s Kansenshi stars by 78 runs. Roan won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 148 runs all out in 22 overs.
Bwalya Mwila and Chimya Chilekwa top scored with knocks of 29 runs, Jonathan Chisembele made 24 runs while Musonda Yambayamba made a quick fire knock of 23 runs before being caught trying to clear the boundary.
Pick of the bowlers for Kansenshi Stars was Emmanuel Kapembwa who got four wickets while his twin brother Lawrence picked up two wickets with Harrison Kanina also got two wickets.
Kansenshi Stars batting second were knocked over for 70 runs in 19.2 overs, Gregory Kisembeki top scored with 12 runs. Chimya Chilekwa finished as Roan best bowler with five wickets while Jonathan Chisembele got three wickets.
