Banda said the competition would also be used as a preparatory for the teams preparing for the International Handball Federation (IHF) trophy to be held in South Africa in September.
He said the Best of Seven competition has attracted 19 teams from which nine are the girl’s teams and that the competition will at 08:00hrs in the OYDC multi-purpose hall.
Kasisi Dynamaite will send a boy’s and girl’s team, Kamwala stars, Kanyama Hotspurs, Northmead Lakers, Misisi Rangers, Ndola Holy Angels, and Lilanda Dynamos are among the teams expected to compete.
“The reason we are having this tournament is to keep our under -20 boys and girls players active so that they are in good shape for the international competitions like the forthcoming IHF trophy in September in South Africa,” Banda said.
Banda encouraged the players to put in their level best in the tournament as that it was through such competition the association identifies players that make national teams.
