KABWE Warriors yesterday posted an important victory against Lusaka Dynamos which saw them consolidate fifth position and narrowed the gap on fourth placed Green Buffaloes to one point.
Marcel Kalonda scored the all important goal midway in the first half when he beat an off side trap to head in a free kick to hand the home side maximum points.
It was relief and a big confidence boost for coach Mohammad Fathy who started the second round of the season with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Zanaco last week and will now approach the next game against Nkana with positivity.
Dynamos on the other have failed to build on from last week’s 2-1 win against Lusaka Tigers which saw them climb out of the relegation Zone.
The Lusaka outfit remain on 14th position with 18 points, one behind the relegation zone and may drop back in danger depending on today’s results of teams below them.
