At Woodlands Stadium –
Buffaloes 0 Warriors 1
GREEN Buffaloes slim title hopes suffered a setback as the army side failed to leap into third place following a home loss to Kabwe Warriors during yesterday’s MTN-FAZ Super League Week 20 match played in Lusaka.
That defeat left Buffaloes 16 points behind leaders Zanaco, on 49 points, and five points behind Nkana, who currently occupy the last continental competition slot on 38 points.
Warriors, meanwhile, moved a point up on 32 points to keep alive hopes of challenging for the top two finish.
Godfrey Ngwenya scored the only goal of the match in the 75th minute after powering in a header from a Josphat Kasusu cross from the left flank giving keeper Geoffrey Silavwe no chance to keep out.
Kasusu could have doubled his team’s lead but his shot, after some interchange of pass with Mwansa Nsofwa in the 89th minute, was punched out by Silavwe.
Napsa 0 Arrows 1
IN the late kickoff, SANDRA MWILA reports that substitute Francis Kombe volleyed home the winner as Red Arrows moved to 29 points and compounded Napsa Stars relegation woes.
Kombe, who came in for Stanley Nshimbi in the 78th minute, took four minutes to do what was required of him when he connected a Daniel Sibanda inviting cross for him volley past a stunned Philip Banda.
Collins Sikombe could have levelled matters in the last minute of the match but agonisingly shot wide from inside the box after he was setup by Brian Lubaba as Napsa remain third from bottom on 17 points.
Napsa had themselves to blame as Youremember Banda failed to connect a Lubaba pass inside the box as he miscued the  shot in the 15th minute while Chisenga Likwembe hit the upright two minutes later.
