ZAMBIAN tennis player Patrick Mufumbila has signed on a three month training camp with a Spanish tennis academy Valencia Tennis Academy ahead of the 2017 season.
Mufumbila who disclosed the development in an interview said he would utilise the opportunity given to him by learning new tactics by playing with experienced players at the academy to sharpen his career.
He starts on January 10 and he is expected to be part of all the academy’s training programmes
and featuring in all the tournaments the academy will take part in.
“I have signed a three month training contract with the Valencia Tennis Academy in Spain, I will be playing in their academy in Valencia, and this is an opportunity for me because I will be playing
with their top Spanish players and travelling to some tournaments with the academy and that will help me sharpen my skills and technique,” he said.
He said his first assignment of the year with the academy will be in the three different countries.
He said he would play in the four weeks tournament against Rafael Nadal Tennis Academy in Movistar Futures F1 in Mallorca Island, and in Portugal during the F1 Vale Do Lobo, Open tennis championship before he heads to Antalya, Turkey, to take part in the F9 promotion of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) circuit tennis championship.
The Mallorca tournament starts from January 16 to 29, The F1 Vale Do Lobo, Open tennis championship in Portugal starts from February 27 to March 5th. And he will conclude the European tour by taking part in the F9 promotion in Turkey, which is scheduled for April 17-30th, 2017.
Mufumbila, who is expected to leave the country on January 5, will be with new coaches Sergei Dronov and his new personal manager Alejandro Alex Viggiani, who is also his sponsor and both are from Spain.
He said United Kingdom (UK) based companies AL-travel and Kukula Capital Plc will be branding his kit, tennis Racquets and bags.
