THE Zambia Basketball Federation (ZABF) executive committee has appointed Australian born Liz Mills as an assistant coach at the senior mens national team which is headed by Cuthbert Tembo.
ZBF also appointed Lunga Bullets trainer Connell Kandala and Matero Magic coach Obert Shamboko to beef up the technical bench.
The executive met at the weekend to make the national team appointments of persons to prepare teams for international assignments next year.
According to a statement released to the media by association general secretary Mwembe Kaona, ZBF has also appointed Green Buffaloes coach Joseph Mhango to head the senior women’s side.
Mhango will be assisted by Lusaka City Council coach Paul Mwale and Copperbelt Energy coach Henry Mkandawire.
The coach has been given a challenge of qualifying the women national for the 2017 Afrobasket and the qualifying series which will be played between February and May next year.
Given the task of handling the Under-16 boys team is Coach Paul Mwale who will be assisted my Mufulira Magnets coach David Naambo.
Kaona also added that Napsa assistant coach Noah Mabutwe has been given a role of heading the under-16 girls.
