BETTER late than never, as the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals theme song was finally launched yesterday.
Music heavyweight Jordan Katembula (JK), Justin Mulenga (Mozegator) and Wilson Mwale (Willie) teamed up to compose the song which will help publicise the event.
With the AFCON set to kickoff in 10 days, Government is confident the song will help sensitise members of the public on Zambia’s hosting of the event that will run from February 26 to March 12 in Lusaka and Ndola.

Sports Minister Moses Mawere said the song would be played frequently for everyone to hear on radio and other media ahead of the tournament and appealed to Zambians to propagate the song because of the magnitude of the event which needs publicity.
“We decided to team up with these guys because they are music powerhouses that can help us disseminate the message to the masses,” he said.
Wille said they decided to work on the track because music was a unifying factor which brought people from different cultures together.
“I want to urge the fans to come in numbers and support the team in order to give them the much needed support to win the tournament,” he said.
In attendance was Sports Permanent secretary Agness Musunga, director of sports Bessy Chelemu, FAZ president Andrew Kamanga and his general secretary Ponga Liwewe.
Meanwhile, striker Conlyde Luchanga joined camp yesterday ahead of the tournament.
Luchanga touched down at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport around 14:30 hours from his Israel base leaving coach Beston Chambeshi waiting for only striker Patson Daka, who is expected to arrive after February 21.
Daka, who recently joined Liefering of Austria earlier this year, will only be released after participating in the UEFA Champions League.
