THE Siamupangila sisters of Ogar and Evelyn cruised into the doubles finals at the 2017 Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA) Uganda International Open.
Ogar and Evelyn set up a rematch of the 2016 Mauritius final as they were expected to face the Egyptian pair of Nadia Hosny and Doha Hany at the tournament that came to a close last night at the MTN Arena Lugogo Hall in Kampala.
The Zambian pair lost that final 2-0 score to settle for the silver medal.
To reach the final, the sisters dispatched Haneen Derar Al-Wedyan and Domou Amro of Jordan winning 21-16, 21-11 to set up an interesting date against the Egyptians.
In the ladies singles, Ogar was dumped out of the tournament after losing to Uganda’s Bridget Shamim Bangi in the quarter-finals. Bangi went on to reach the final and she was expected to face Jordan’s Amro.
