ZAMBIA Army employee has been arrested by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Lusaka for obtaining money by false pretences.??

Staff Sergeant Clement Kanyembo, 40, of Arakan Barracks in Lusaka obtained a total amount of K3, 900.00 by false pretences from four members of the public by promising them that he would facilitate their recruitment in the Zambia Army.??

Sergeant Kanyembo who appeared before the Lusaka magistrate court on Thursday 20th November, 2014 for plea has since denied all the charges.??

According to a statement released by ACC public relations manager Timothy Moono, Sergeant Kanyembo is currently remanded at Kamwala Remand Prison for failure to meet bail conditions.

Meanwhile, two Lusaka business executives have been arrested by the in Kabwe for corrupt practices involving K3, 000.??

Faisal Omar, 36, of House No. 101 Akashambatwa Road in Lusaka and Malambo Reeves, 45, Plot 4138, Rhodespark in Lusaka were charged and arrested for corrupt practices with public officers, contrary to Section 19(2), as ready with Section 41 of the Anti-Corruption Act?Number 3 of the 2012.??

Omar and Reeves allegedly offered K3,000 to the Zambia Police officers manning the Manyumbi Police check point along Great North Road in order for the officers to allow two trucks carrying Mukula Tree logs to pass the check point without being impounded.??

They have since been released on K10,000 bond in their own recognisance with two working sureties and will appear before the Kapiri Mposhi subordinate court on Thursday, December 4, 2014 for plea.
