Fake Union Locks flood market

VENDORS dealing in forged Union locks have flooded the Zambian market with a sub-standard version of the product, an investor has said.
ASSA Abloy Group Brand, holders of the Union Lock franchise in Africa, said Zambia had become a dumping ground for counterfeit Union Lock products and the company had come not only to invest, but also to educate the Zambian market about its range of products.
ASSA Abloy Union Brand manager for the African region Tian Smith said in an interview yesterday that his company had come to offer alternative security solutions to the Zambian market with their high-grade products.
“Our market target is quite huge. We want all Zambians to enjoy good security that will guarantee them safety,” Mr Smith said.
