Celtel Solwezi launch a big hit
By Business Reporter
CELTEL has recorded about 3,000 new subscribers in Solwezi after the cellular company’s launch of its services in North-Western Province last week.
Speaking in an interview, Celtel marketing manager Chrispine Kagulurah said the Solwezi launch had been made successful because of the close and strong relations between Government and the business community which had partnered with the company.
He said Celtel had already introduced the Short Message Service (SMS) interconnect with Telecel and were currently pending inter-connectivity with Cell Z.
He expressed hope that Cell Z would answer in the affirmative as inter-connectivity would boost reliable communication in the country.
The marketing manager said the grand finale for them, would be the launch in Mongu which would round up the marathon to have all the country’s nine provinces connected.
He expressed hope the ongoing developments at Kansanshi mine which was recently opened would benefit from the service.
The recent connection of Solwezi brings to eight the total number of provincial centres connected to the network. Celtel will roll out in Mongu on April 2.
