THE Christian Enterprise Trust of Zambia (CETZAM) has been commended for enhancing livelihood for the disadvantaged people through creation of self-employment.
According to the January issue of New African magazine, in 2003, the programme had created and sustained 104,747 jobs in seven African countries where it operated.
The countries that benefited from the organisation’s initiative included Egypt, Zambia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Mozambique and Malawi.
The magazine cites the example of a Zambian, Alice Jere, who barely able to survive, was rescued when CETZAM came to her aid and gave her a loan of K160,000 which she used to start a poultry business.
