NKANA’s 2014 CAF Champions League first round, first leg fixture against Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) of Uganda tomorrow has been shifted to Arthur Davies Stadium following a spate of relentless downpours in Kitwe.
Club secretary, Ken Mwansa said yesterday that the change was made after the Nkana pitch became waterlogged and unplayable.
“I can confirm that the game will be played at Arthur Davies due to the heavy rains that we have been experiencing recently,” Mwansa said.
Mwansa said the decision was made yesterday morning following a meeting between Nkana and Power Dynamos officials.
“Otherwise CAF and FAZ have been informed of the changes,” he said.
Meanwhile, Nkana defender Christopher Munthali has been declared fit for tomorrow’s clash against KCCA after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Nkana coach Masauso Mwale said his main worry now was with midfielder Shadreck Musonda, who is still on light training after sustaining an injury in last Saturday’s Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield final 3-1 win over Red Arrows at Arthur Davies.
“He (Munthali) has recovered he has trained for two days without any difficulties,” Mwale said.
“But we will look at Shadreck in Thursday’s afternoon team training but he is still doing light training,” he said.
