Jacob Mulenga NewBy KALUMIANA KALUMIANA –

ZAMBIA striker Jacob Mulenga says he is safe following a Wednesday night blast in Tianjin where his Chinese club was playing an away league game on the same date.
Over 44 people were reportedly killed following two explosions in the port city’s industrial area that saw debris hit buildings over two kilometres away from the blasts’ epicentre.
Mulenga was in action there earlier on Wednesday afternoon with his club Shijiazhuang Yongchang against hosts Tianjin Teda in a match that ended 1-1.
The Zambia striker also scored in that match to keep the promoted club in 5th place on the Chinese Super League log.
“We are back in our city safe and sound,” Jacob said in an interview from China yesterday.
“We weren’t close to that. Our hotel was away from there. We didn’t hear or see anything.”
Meanwhile, Mulenga put Shijiazhuang ahead in the 38th minute but Tianjin equalized in the 89th minute through their Argentine striker Hernan Barcos who scored his 14th goal of the season for the third from bottom club.
Mulenga’s goal sent his tally to eight this season equaling Nigerian Daniel Chima as the top two African marksmen in the Chinese Super League so far in the 2015 season, nine goals behind leader Aoisio of Brazil after 22 matches played.
