By SANDRA MWILA –
POWER Dynamos have said teenage striker Conlyde Luchanga is going nowhere despite frantic efforts by his parent club Lusaka Dynamos to recall him from a two-year loan deal.
A transfer row has erupted between Dynamos who have recalled Luchanga from Power despite the two sides agreeing a two-year deal on December 30, 2015 at Crest Hotel in Lusaka.
However, Luchanga has refused to go back to Queensmead despite club proprietor Hanif Adams insisting that the Chipolopolo player returns. Dynamos were hammered a blow when Luchanga played and starred for Power after scoring the equaliser on Saturday during the Charity Shield.
Power secretary Ricky Mamfunda said in an interview yesterday that the deal with Dynamos made on December 30 still stands.
Mamfunda said FIFA rules were clear on transfers and that the interest of the player should come first, adding that Luchanga should be allowed to play for a team of his choice.
He said Power enjoys a good relationship with Dynamos and believes the sudden transfer twist will be resolved amicably.
“From Powers’ point of view, the December deal made over Luchanga still stands, he remains with us. This is not the first time we are dealing with Dynamos and I am positive this transfer twist will be resolved amicably,” Mamfunda said.
He said the two clubs have a good long term relationship and will not allow a small issue destroy the enjoyed rapport.
Mamfunda said Dynamos chairperson Mofya Chisala was an honourable man and their discussions with club have been professional.
He added that with such kind of transfer disputes erupting, it was the more reason why club licensing should be implemented.
“The Dynamos chair is a very honourable person and our discussions with them have been professional. What we need is club licensing to be implemented to avoid transfer disputes,” Mamfunda said.
Meanwhile, Mofya said in a separate interview that the Luchanga issue will be tabled soon.
