ZAMBIA’S budding star Kalombo Mulenga powered his way into the semi-finals of the ongoing Uganda Junior International Open.
This feat comes barely two days after he teamed up with his brother Chongo to win bronze in the men’s senior doubles category.
Having being placed on bye in the first round after he was seeded second, the Zambian the country’s sole representative in this Under-19 championship been played at MTN Lugogo Arena in Kampala.
Kalombo opened his campaign with a 2-0 win over Arshath Mohamed Vaheed of Uganda winning via 21-12, 21-10 set scores in the second round.
He then easily dispatched Algeria’s Mohamed Abdelaziz claiming a 21-15, 21-17 scores victory to set up a semi-final showdown against another Algerian and tournament seed-four Siffeddinine Larbaoui.
