By MUSONDA MANGILASHI –
and ESTHER NG’ANDUPAST Mines and Minerals Development Minister Christopher Yaluma has urged the Zambia Chamber of Mines (ZCM) to be vigilant in engaging Government on how the mining industry can be sustained.
Mr Yaluma said ZCM has the potential to move the mining industry forward and in a way they can globally compete and stir the economical diversification of the country.
Speaking during a farewell dinner organised by ZCM at Mukwa Lodge in Kitwe on Wednesday evening, Mr Yaluma said Government was committed at ensuring that they support the mining industry by providing a favourable environment.
“I would like to encourage the Chamber to be more vigilant and aggressive and come to Government, engage it in a way you would like to see the mining industry move so that you will be in a position to push the mines in a way they can globally compete and stir the economic diversification of this country,” he said.
