SURGING Chinese scrap copper imports that have doubled in the first half of 2021 will affect copper price recovery, according to a Roskill data report.
The report stated China is currently importing copper scrap from 95 countries, with Malaysia contributing 160,000 tonnes, Japan at 130,000 tonnes, the United States (US) 104,000 tonnes and Hong Kong at 54,000 tonnes.
