FROM the tender age of 15, Pasha Magaba has been building his talent to sing and now he intends to produce his first album by August, 2014.

Magaba, whose dream to sing was initiated at New Hope Christian Centre in Chifubu area of Ndola, has been singing for the last 12 years.

In 2010, he helped a 20-member local church choir produce an album which attracted gospel music followers countrywide.

“I started signing at the age of 15 at a local church in Ndola and I was inspired by the famous Boyd and Matthew Ngosa, two brothers who have been singing for a long time now.

“This album I intend to produce this year features mostly worship songs with the desire to exalt the name of Jesus, thanking him for his favour and blessings,” he narrates.

Magaba told Times Entertainment that for the past 12 years, he has so far worked with Ndola-based artistes such as Zamar Kasonde, the Chifundo Brothers, and gospel trio DMK.

He says gospel musicians should shy away from singing songs just to make money and entertain listeners, but they should instead minister with the aim to portray the word of God through music.

“My prayer is that we identify our ‘heart of worship’ and divert from this mentality of just ministering to entertain people and make money at the end of the day,” he said.

Magaba called on industry stakeholders to collaborate with him and offer him support as he embarks on his project.
