Letters to the Editor -LogoTHE alleged cases of child stealing and killings in Ndola must not be trivialized but given the serious attention they deserve.
For God’s sake, people are not crying about car or animal stealing but about children being stolen and killed.
This is heart breaking! It is a grave loss of moral conscience.
No one must support the riots. But on the other hand, every discerning person will tell that certain communities must have been hurt for a long time, and currently they just want to be heard and feel protected.
I sincerely appreciate the improved work of the police but surely in this case, I feel they need to work smart to give people hope and a strong assurance of police protection.
People expect a strong voice against the criminals. Criminals behind the alleged killings, wherever you are hiding the long arm of the law will find you and we will smoke and flush you out and you will rot in jail forever.
This is the police voice the communities at least want to hear to calm them down and assure them of protection. The people of Ndola must be heard.
I, however, appeal to Ndola residents, by God’s mercy, to calm down.
But let us go on to watch over every child and protect one another as those with information should provide voluntary intelligence to the police.
Rev WILLIE NYENDWA
Ndola.

Introduction of Teaching Council welcome

WE welcome the introduction of the Teaching Council to regulate teachers in the country.
Teachers must keep away from school girls and avoid reporting for duty in a drunken state.
We support the government on this very important issue of national importance.
We would like to commend the relevant authorities and the Patriotic Front government for listening to the cries of Luanshya teachers.
Happy Teachers

‘I’m thrilled with John Barnes’ visit to Zambia’

AS a soccer fan, I am exhilarated with the visit to Zambia by former Liverpool and England striker John Barnes.
At Konkola Blades in Chililabombwe we had a striker Chris Chibuye who was nick named as “Barnes” owing to his good runs and desire to score for sharp Konkola Blades in the 1990’s.
Chris “Barnes” Chibuye went to coach teams such as 1962 Champions Roan united of Luanshya.
I would like to urge upcoming players to emulate the love for the game exhibited by John Barnes during his career.
