ZAMBIA’s much sought after local music videos awards, the Born and Bred which were scheduled to take place this month have been moved to July.

ZNBC’s Innocent Kalaluka, the initiator of the awards tells Times Weekend Entertainment that the awards have not been cancelled but  rather postponed to a later date in  late June or July.
The Born and Bred Awards, which were created to appreciate the best of the country’s finest music videos have been staged each year since 2008.
Last year, the awards which were held on March 21, 2014 at Lusaka’s Government Complex, witnessed Copperbelt based rapper Macky 2 bag four awards in the categories of Best Conscious Music Video, Best Collaboration Music Video that featured K’Million, Best Zed Video and the overall accolade of the Best Video of the year.
His younger brother Chef187 was not left out as he equally got a fair share from the awards by scooping two awards in the categories of Best Hip Hop Video and Best Radio four Song of the year; much to the bliss of the fan base in the audience.
Others who walked away with single accolades included gospel music genius, Pompi who scooped Best Gospel Video Award.
Maureen Lilanda got the Life Achievement Award, while Luciano walked away with the Traditional Video Award. Best Tourism Video Award went to Erythious Mukuka, while the Best Female upcoming Video went to Chama.
Best Upcoming Male Music Video Award went to Stevo, while the Best Foreign Video went to award winning Zone Fam. Yellow man walked away with the Best Dancehall Video of Award.
Katisha was the winner of the Best Female Video Award while the much sought after collaboration of Mannas featuring Roberto walked away with Best RnB Music Video Award.
The winners in the various categories are normally voted for by the viewers through a short code which is allocated to each category while some selected judges have their saying as well.
