PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has given back the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) the Toyota Hilux vehicle that was confiscated some five years ago.
The Toyota Hilux that was confiscated during the Rupiah Banda reign during the peak of the FAZ wrangles in 2011 has been parked at State House since that.
Special assistant to the President for Press and Public relations, Amos Chanda told journalists at State House yesterday that the vehicle in question was donated to FAZ by Konkola Copper Mines (KCM).
Chanda said State House did not understand the circumstances under which the vehicle was confiscated and parked there.
FAZ had since made a presentation to President Lungu to have the vehicle released to them.
“I have since released the vehicle which was donated to FAZ by KCM,” Chanda said.
FAZ officials had since collected the vehicle and thanked the President saying the vehicle would greatly assist sort out the transport problems affecting the organisation.
