PF campaign car in accident

A CAMPAIGN vehicle belonging to the Patriotic Front has been involved in a road accident that has left five people hospitalised with serious injuries in Mansa.
The accident in which two vehicles and a bicycle were involved occurred on the Samfya-Mansa Road around 20:00 hours Friday evening.
Luapula Province Police chief Hudson Namachila said one of the cars involved was a Toyota Hiace registration number AJC 8851 belonging to the PF which was being driven by Christopher Chansa, 44, of Mikomfwa Township in Luanshya.
The other vehicle was a Toyota Mark II registration number ACV 2869 which was being driven by Jim Shamvundu, 55, of Plot number 742 Low Density Township in Mansa.
Mr Chansa was transporting a crew of party members involved in the August 6 Bangweulu parliamentary election campaigns when Mr Shamvundu’s car collided with his. Those admitted to Mansa General Hospital were Kennedy Ng’ona, 36, Leonard Maka, 68, Oscar Miyutu,40, Derrick Mwewa, 62 , and the driver of the Mark II.
