Nkana 3 Dynamos 0
PACE setters Nkana restored a four point lead at the top of the MTN/FAZ Super League table after they defeated Lusaka Dynamos a Week Eight  fixture played at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe yesterday.
A win moved the 12- time Zambian champions to 19 points, after playing seven games, four points better than second placed Zesco United, who closed  the gap on Saturday with a 5-0 bashing of Mufulira Blackpool.
But the Ndola based team has played five league games, two games less than the league leaders.
Congolese born Guilly Manziba’s brace and a Walter Bwalya’s spot kick was all Nkana needed to silence the visiting not so ‘Elite’ Lusaka Dynamos.
Bwalya put the hosts in charge in the fourth minute after a vibrant first-half display that saw Sydeny Kasanda commit a foul in the box on Manziba and referee Milton Mweemba pointed for the spot kick.
Bwalya, then converted the goal by sending Dynamos goal minder Edward Mwanda in the wrong direction sending the home fans into jubilations.
Dynamos had a chance to level matters in the 16th minute but Julius Sakala’s effort was parried over the bar by Nkana goalkeeper Scott Ngonkene for the corner which was later wasted.
Bwalya had a chance to double the advantage for the host but nodded into Dynamo’s goalkeeper’s way to make a brilliant save that gave the visitors hope.
But Manziba’s second goal in the 44th minute swiftly ended visitors those aspirations after capitalising on the lapse of the defense, who failed to clear a dangerous ball in the box, the Congolese hit man took full advantage to curl into the gaping goal to double the host’s advantage.
Manziba further extinguished the visitors’ hopes of coming back into the game a minute later, when he scored his second goal in the game by chipping over advancing Dynamos goalie Mwanza at the neck of halftime, after he was put through by Jacob Ngulube to send the home fans into cerebrations and in to the break with a three goal cushion.
After the break, the sting had been taken out of the game as the home team dropped the tempo as they knew they had done all the damage in the first half.
Nkana were just counter-reacting to the visiting team’s attacking frustrations that were not producing the required results.
It is a victory which moves Nkana to the top, who have a game in hand against Red Arrow. It is the sixth league win of the season after playing seven games and a draw that came at the hands of Lusaka Tigers while
Dynamos loss meant that they remained second from bottom with five points after playing eight games, winning once, drawing twice and losing five times to put more pressure on Perry Mutapa’s technical bench.
