KABWE Municipal Council Town Clerk Oliver Muka says the local authority has not played its pivotal role in the provision of quality service delivery over the past years due to a number of challenges.      The situation, he said,  was however about to change.
Mr Muka said he was working towards changing the face of  the local authority by transforming the leadership style and making sure it was equal to the task of its desired role to move the economy of the municipality forward.
Speaking during a heads of departments meeting with Central Province Permanent Secretary Edwidge Mutale, Mr Muka explained that his management was working towards reversing the trend and move the district forward.
He said together with his new team, the council was committed to rebuilding the lost confidence among the people of Kabwe.
Mr Muka said he was aware that Kabwe residents had lost confidence in the council and was positive that things would change within the shortest possible time.
“I am aware that Kabwe residents have lost confidence in the council due to a number of events but management wants to reverse that through a change in the way things are handled,” Mr Muka said.
Mr Muka said council managers had resolved to change the poor work culture and embrace one which would steer economic development.
And Ms Mutale called for the re-branding of the local authority that would see the launch of its strategic plan.
