By NDINAWE SIMPELWE –
‘MIGHTY’ Mufulira Wanderers coach Justin Chinama says his side is not comfortable and need maximum points today when they take their relegation fight away at Red Arrows as the MTN-FAZ Super League enters Week 31.
Today’s other fixture sees Napsa Stars host unpredictable Green Eagles with the aim of boosting a place in the top four for a  CAF Inter Club slot.
Arrows v Wanderers
CHINAMA called on his players not to fear opponents but aim for three points as they were not yet comfortable in the relegation battle which sees the legendary side sit one place above the relegation zone.
He implored his players to start picking points regardless of whether they were playing home or away.
“We are not comfortable where we are. We need maximum points in the remaining matches and that’s why we need to take them head on. The boys are ready,” Chinama said.
Any slip up by the Mufulira giants would spell doom as they are separated by one point wit 17th placed Nchanga Rangers, who have 27 points.
Arrows on the other hand were left furious on Tuesday with what they termed ‘stupid officiating’ by referee Leonard Akapelwa in the rescheduled game against Zesco United.
Coach Honour Janza did not hide anger and repeatedly described Akapelwa as stupid for poor officiating that cost his side a point after losing 1-0.
Arrows will vent their anger on Wanderers and hope to pick up a win which will see them move ninth position from 11th.
Janza will need his trusted guns, Mundia Lubinda, Francis Kombe and Bruce Musakanya come to the party his afternoon.
Napsa v Eagles
NAPSA were strong contenders for the league title earlier in the season but a dip in form saw them fail to pick a win in two months which saw the team drop from the top to mid-table with eight matches before the close of the season.
As Napsa host Eagles, their ambitions have completely changed as their realistic target would be to push for a top four finish to earn qualification to the CAF inter-club championships next year.
Stand in coach Linos Makwaza has already guided the team to the 2017 Barclays Cup final after dispatching Zesco in the semi final and would be confident of a good result today.
“We are anticipating a tough game but we are ready for Eagles. We have to get maximum points for us to reach 47 points and see where we go from there,” Makwaza said.
However, Eagles are tutored by one of Zambia’s highly rated coach in Aggrey Chiyangi who has transformed the team into playing attractive football.
But Eagles’ undoing this season has been their inconsistency which has seen them perform well against the big guns but struggle to get their groove against average sides.
Eagles are not yet safe from relegation as they sit 13th on the table with 35 points which leave them eight points clear from the danger zone.
The Choma based side would rely on experienced campaigners such as Venacious Mapande and Spencer Sauti for glory but they should be wary of the threat that Chitiya Mususu and Youremmber Banda who can wreck havoc on their day.
