FOOTBALL Association of Zambia (FAZ) technical director Moses Sichone says the African Nations Championship (CHAN) team needs to be sharpened ahead of the tournament next month.
Sichone said in an interview at National Heroes Stadium that the team was in good shape but needed to be sharpened in certain areas.
Sichone pointed out that the players needed to work on their approach in training and tactical abilities.
“We need to look at sharpening their approach to training, individual, group and team tactical abilities,” Sichone said.
He said when players are aware of the positioning it makes it easy to coordinate with the rest of the team.
“The technical bench knows what the team is lacking and they will work on the team before the tournament,” Sichone said.
Sichone added that he was impressed with the players’ style of play.
“The team is in good shape, I have watched three sessions and the players leave a good impression,” Sichone said.
He said Zambians where expecting good results from the CHAN team and the team should deliver.
“A few things need to be done, the boys look motivated and where we are going (CHAN) Zambians are expecting the players to bring a trophy,” he said.
