POLICE have summoned National Democratic Congress (NDC) political consultant Chishimba Kambwili for questioning in Lusaka today.
Mr Kambwili said at a Press briefing yesterday that he had received a police call out to appear before police officers at 10:30 hours.
He alleged that the police summon was in connection with a matter which was reported by Economic and Equity Party leader Chilufya Tayali.
Mr Kambwili said Mr Tayali had claimed to police that Mr Kambwili had registered a company with other names in order to defraud the Government.
He said he was ready to appear before police and had called a briefing to inform the nation that police intended to detain him without bail and to poison him while in detention.
“I also want to let you know that I am going to sue the State for malicious charges when they charged me for an offence to do with my car,” Mr Kambwili said.
Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said in an interview yesterday that Mr Kambwili was expected to appear before the law-enforcement officers at 10:00 hours.
Ms Katongo, however, did not disclose why Mr Kambwili, who is expelled Patriotic Front (PF) Roan Member of Parliament, had been summoned.
“We’ll only disclose the reason for his summoning after he has appeared at a station within the Lusaka Division,” Ms Katongo said.
