FORMER Transparency International Zambia chapter executive director Goodwell Lungu has arrived in Botswana following his appointment as Deputy High Commissioner to that country.
Mr Lungu replaced the outgoing deputy High Commissioner Wesley Chikwamu who has served in his position for six years.
This is according to a statement by First Secretary for Press at the Zambian High Commission in Botswana Kasabo Kalusa.
“The High Commission of the Republic of Zambia in Gaborone, Botswana, wishes to inform the Zambian community in Botswana on the arrival of newly appointed Deputy High Commissioner Mr Goodwell Lungu,” Mr Kalusa said.
The Zambian High Commissioner to Botswana Patrick Tembo said he was grateful to Mr Chikwamu for his service to the Zambian community in Botswana and the nation.
Brigadier-General Tembo wished Mr Chikwamu well in his future engagements.
He implored the Zambian community in Botswana to welcome Mr Lungu by providing the necessary support and cooperation as he took up his new responsibilities.
Mr Lungu was head of community relations for the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for eight years and also served as executive director of Transparency International for 12 years before retiring in 2016.
