Usage of technological storage bags scaled up

AGROZ has partnered with Musika Development Initiatives Zambia, Technoserve and the World Food Programme (WFP) to scale up the use of hermetic technology storage bags.
AgroZ is the umbrella brand for all products dedicated to agriculture and horticulture, manufactured by A to Z Textile Mills Limited and Polyfoam based in Arusha, Tanzania.
A to Z Group Sales and Marketing Manager Bhubhinder Singh said at the just ended 2018 Agritech in Chisamba, that currently the use of this technology and penetration in Zambia was low and hence the need to partner with WFP and two other organisations to increase awareness.
“The challenge that is there is that most of the small scale farmers in Zambia are not aware about this technology and that is why we are partnering with WFP, Technoserve and Musika to help us up scale the use of this technology,” Mr Singh said.
He said the organisation would this year alone train over 50,000 farmers on the use of this technology.
“We want the farmers to know and use this hermetic bag on trial basis and there after adopt this technology
The company which has its presence in Kenya,Uganda, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia and has a production capacity of five million bags annually.
