By NDINAWE SIMPELWE –
BANNED football administrator Simataa Simataa has described the current Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) executive as infallible for allegedly ignoring its own rules.
The Ethics Committee banned Simataa after it found him guilty of circulating FAZ documents to have been obtained illegally with intent to discredit the association’s executive members and officials.
Simataa had reported FAZ to the Anti Corruption Commission after leaked documents from the association revealed that executive members received huge allowances for hosting two junior tournaments, the Under 20 Africa Cup and the COSAFA Under 20 tournaments.
But in an interview after he collected his ban letter at Football House, Simataa expressed disappointment that the letter was dated April 25th yet it took the association 11 days to hand it to him.
Simataa claimed after God and Satan, there was the current FAZ that behaved like it was infallible and thought they could call anyone involved in football to its kangaroo court and ban them.
“There is God, Satan the devil and FAZ. They think anyone involved in football can be called to their kangaroo court. They deliberately ignored the issues I raised to suit themselves. I told them I was not their member,” Simataa said.
He said he had witnesses who attended his hearing where he made it clear that he was making preliminary submission and not his defence and added that a judgment could not passed from a preliminary submission.
He demanded that he be compensated for the time and fuel he wasted when he went to football house to enquire on his ban twice without proper response.
Asked what his next course action would be, Simataa said he had three options to pursue but everyone would know once he took action against the ban.
“I have three options. One of them is to ignore the ban. But let me take action instead of threatening them. You will see the action I will take,” Simataa said.
