DUNDUMWEZI district of Southern Province hogged the limelight in the immediate aftermath of the 2016 general elections for delivering the fewest votes of any constituency for the winning presidential candidate.
So few – even by the regular pattern of voting Southern Province – that even President Edgar Lungu saw the funny side of it and jokingly referenced the outcome in an address to Parliament.
That could change in the next vote. Some 70 village heads staged a solidarity march in the constituency yesterday to pledge their support to Mr Lungu, citing various developmental projects that have taken place in the district in the last four years.
