THE Zambia Institute of Architecture (ZIA) says it suspects flaws in the construction of the building on Lusaka’s Chilumbulu Road that collapsed on Wednesday in a mishap in which one person died.
ZIA president Bwalya Masabo said although an actual assessment had not been done on the collapsed building belonging to a Pakistan national, flaws could be seen on how the design of the facility did not follow the standards.
Speaking when members of the association inspected the building at the weekend, Mr Masabo confirmed that none of their members was involved in the construction of the infrastructure.
“As an architect and being on site, you can actually tell what really went wrong in the construction,” said Mr Masabo.
