WARMA to charge Luanshya farmer

THE Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA) will charge the owner of a farm in Luanshya on the Copperbelt for impounding and obstructing the flow of the Baluba stream, without a permit.
WARMA public relations officer Joshua Kapila said the owner of the Phyllis farm, Zachariah Muya, has been found to impound and disturb the natural flow of water by constructing decks, spillway and diverting the flow of water.
During an inspection yesterday, Mr Kapila said that the activity on the stream had affected other water users whose fish ponds had dried up and denied them equal access to natural bodies.
