ZAMBIAN striker Collins Mbesuma says the country has been lagging in grassroots football development hence his decision to form a foundation and an academy.
Mbesuma said there was need to focus on grassroots football if the country was to have several good players at national team level.
He said through his foundation, he would groom young players and help them get to higher levels of the game by exposing them to competitions like this forthcoming youth tournament.
He said this upon arrival at the KKIA ahead of the Copperbelt Youth Football tournament to be held in Luanshya under the Collins Mbesuma Foundation.
