Millers to buy 1.8m tonnes of maize

MILLERS have started to buy 1.8 million tonnes of maize in this year’s crop marketing season.
Millers Association of Zambia (MAZ) president Andrew Chintala said maize moisture content had dropped to the recommended milling levels. Mr Chintala said in an interview yesterday that individual millers were now on the market to buy maize for both human and animal consumption. He said the millers were buying maize at the market price offered in different parts of the country where maize was available.
