FIRST Republican president, Kenneth Kaunda has been discharged from Lusaka Trust Hospital.
Dr Kaunda, 89, was admitted to the hospital on Friday evening after he complained of fatigue.
A check by Times of Zambia at Lusaka Trust Hospital in Lusaka earlier yesterday, revealed that Dr Kaunda’s condition was stable and would soon be discharged as he was responding well to treatment.
President Michael Sata on Sunday visited the former president at 10:45 hours and was accompanied by the first lady Dr Christine Kaseba and his Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations, George Chellah.
And his daughter Cheswa Silwizya assured the nation that there was no need for Zambians to be worried and thanked the Government and people for their concern.
Ms Silwizya said in an interview that her father’s condition had improved, adding that he was in good shape and would soon be discharged.
“His condition has improved and he is now in good shape, I would like to thank everyone for their concern. There is no need to worry and he is likely to be discharged anytime soon,” she said.
