THE hurdles that the country has been facing after the privatization of the mining industry should be lesson enough to value local investments, the Mineworkers Union of Zambia (MUZ) has said. MUZ president Joseph Chewe regretted the low levels of participation by the indigenous companies in the mining industry. “We have noted that foreign companies are usually given favourable conditions for investments against our own locals,” Mr Chewe said during the 2021 Supreme Council held at Kitwe’s Moba Hotel last week.
