2 UNZA officials quit after law school results uproar

THE aftermath of the 2021 examination results at Zambia’s highest institution of learning,
University of Zambia (UNZA) have triggered disorder and caused resignation of at least two officials
in the school of law.
Acting UNZA School of Law Dean Lungowe Matakala who is also head of department, and assistant dean for undergraduate James Kayula have with immediate effect resigned from their positions.
Dr Matakala and Mr Kayula resigned on Wednesday this week in protest against the management’s introduction of the
application of repeat and proceed rule in the school of law for students that failed a given number of courses.
