‘Economy to grow by 4.8p.c’

ZAMBIA’S economy is projected to grow by 4.8 per cent this year following momentum growth in secondary industry.
This is likely to be maintained specifically by the electricity, manufacturing and construction sector, Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) of which First National Bank (FNB) Zambia is a division says.
It follows a significant rebound estimated at 3.6 per cent in 2021, as Zambia’s economy remained on a path of recovery RMB Africa economist Daniel Kavishe projected that the Zambian economy would grow to 4.8 per cent in 2022 before stabilising at 4.0 per cent in 2023.
