THE Centre for Environmental Justice (CEJ) has said it is a shame that more than 300,000 people are still living on toxic soils 25 years after the Kabwe Mine and Smelter were closed.
CEJ head of research Freeman Mubanga said schools, playgrounds, homes and back yards had high lead levels of which residents were being poisoned on a huge scale and children were the most vulnerable.
